Vice Chairman

Mark Thompson joined the Country Club Bank organization in 1996, and currently holds the executives titles of Chairman of Country Club Trust Company, N.A., Vice Chairman of Country Club Bank and President of parent holding company, CCB Financial Corporation.

In his executive role, Mark also serves on the Board of Directors of these three organizations. He previously served as Chairman of Allen Bank and Trust Company in Harrisonville, Missouri, another sister bank of Country Club Bank, until it merged into Country Club Bank in 2009.

After earning both an undergraduate and law degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Mark began his professional career in 1988 as an attorney with the Spencer Fane Britt & Browne law firm in Kansas City. In 1991, he was appointed an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri where he served five years in the Financial Fraud Unit. While in this role, he was recognized by the Inspector General of the Resolution Trust Corporation for his outstanding effort in shepherding a case to the United States Supreme Court which resulted in a successful government prosecution.

Mark is extremely active in the Kansas City community and has served on numerous boards of civic, charitable, academic and alumni organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the St. Luke's Foundation and serves as a Governor of the American Royal. He has also served on the Board of The Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission, Avila University, Starlight Theatre, KCPT-19 public television and the Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award Foundation.

His community work has brought Mark awards and recognition for his significant contributions. He was presented the Chief’s Baton by the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department and was recognized for Outstanding Dedicated Service to the Board of Police Commissioners' Office of Community Complaints and Residents of Kansas City. He was also an honoree of the Scout Award from the Native Sons of Greater Kansas City and was selected by Ingram's magazine as a member of the "40 Under Forty" Class of 2000.
